I've coordinated more than 600 funerals.
I've listened to thousands of stories.
And one thing became impossible for me to ignore.
People weren't only grieving the person they lost.
They were grieving the person they used to be.
I kept hearing...
"I don't recognize myself anymore."
"I don't know who I am."
"Will I ever feel alive again?"
"I just don't have the capacity to do the things I could before!"
Those words changed me.
Because I realized something.
Most grief support teaches us how to survive.
Very little teaches us how to rediscover ourselves, and increase the ability to do more.
That's why I created Horizonsā„¢.
"I wanted to thank you personally for the lovely reflections you send. There is something about them that rings so true and makes me feel less alone. I have shared them with my mother, and she really, really appreciates them. I want to let you know how deeply your efforts have helped my mom and me.”
"Hi Linda, I want you to know how much you and the grief group have helped me with my own grief journey. I got new insights from you and the other people in our group that I never had in my other losses in my life. I pray for you and your work to continue to bring the same understanding to all that have to walk this long, lonely path.Ā
God bless and have a great holiday.Ā "
